2nd Sprint Analysis

Hello there, recycling enthusiasts!

We bring you more updates on our upcoming game. We just finished our second sprint and we are gonna give you a little peek behind the curtain. First of all, we got to finish our first models for the game. We have our main character fully fletched out, as well as our garbage collecting device and our turtle friend, Kai.

The character and Kai were fairly straightforward to make. It took us some time, but we more or less knew what we wanted them to look like. After two days and a bunch of time learning how to make a turtles skeleton in blender, we had them ready.

The cannon was a whole different story, though. We had a prototype for it that looked cool, but we ran into some issues when trying to implement it in the game. It was too big and covered to much of the player's screen. So we decided to redesign it and change the way the MC's gripped the cannon. After a few discarded prototypes we finally found one that fit our needs whilst still looking cool.

This week was also full of coding achievements too. We finally achieved our goal of making things float in our water maps. Moreover they also figured out a way for us to randomly generate the props that appear on a map, so that we don't have to lay them down by hand. This took us some time, but on the long run it's gonna be a huge development time reduction for us. Thanks to this now we also have the option to make an infinite amount of maps.

Talking about maps, we finished designing our town map, too! This will be where a great part of the game transpires, since it will be where you obtain upgrades and manage the fish you collect.

So, as you can see, this was a very eventful week for us. Stay tuned for next week's devlog issue to find out more about our progress and follow us on our Twitter if you don't already, so that you get notified about updates on the game. See you, guys soon.
